A work of art. Just saying...
We're producing a short video to help explain what Virtuozo actually is. Watch out, academy! Next year's Oscar will definitely go to the wonderful Rosaleen, who kindly agreed to serve as our leading lady. Video coming soon... Check out Omer's 2nd version of the Virtuozo GUI. We love it!! What do you think? Today we shot new high quality videos to incorporate into the game. Nurit Levy, dance teacher and mentor, gave an unforgettable performance! We used a green-screen, so we'd be able to choose whichever background that best fits our needs. We designed a clear 3D dance studio to serve as the background. That way it will not overload the screen with details, and will support the metaphor of the dance lesson, which we have used throughout the interaction design process: In order for this game to be fun and accessible, it has to look gooood. It needs character. It needs its own visual language- colors, fonts & shapes. Omer Gaash, a killer graphic designer, is hard at work to make this happen. So... I proudly present to you, the Virtuozo logo: Plus- check out this amazing first draft of the GUI: We built a new remote control, to fit the changes we've made to the interface. Check out how we went from this paper model to a high-fidelity plastic one: Today we had our most important user testing session yet! We finally got to test the system on our target audience. Guy invited us over to his workplace- the movie theater in Herzliya- to perform the tests. Our testers had a great time and while they were dancing we took the chance to improve the accuracy of our system's motion recognition. They also gave us some very important feedback!
The most important decision they helped us make is to simplify the navigation. As a result, we decided to choose a more linear flow, with only 2 options to choose from at any given time. This means our remote only needs to have 2 buttons. This is how it's going to work: As you probably remember, we wanted to have a sort of "bar" or "rail" to give the users the confidence they need to start dancing. Well, we built it! We realize it's looks kinda crooked, some would even say "scary"... But, hey! It's a start... We had a late-night team meeting today, where our techies revealed their amazing breakthrough with the Kinect sensor! Our system is now able to recognize the correct steps really impressively!
Sit tight for more updates... Hear ye, hear ye! Our baby has a new name [One with less negative connotations]...
From now on, the game shall be called- VIRTUOZO. You may now go back to work... |
